Short sleep duration has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and diabetes—conditions that disproportionately affect Black women. For instance, studies have shown that individuals reporting short sleep (≤6 hours) are at a higher risk of developing diabetes and hypertension.
